Cat in Doghouse!
Stop Press Update! |
Our Schröder brings home live mice and loses them in the cellar, where they cheerfully
survive behind boxes and spare computers by stealing his food whenever he has one
of his little non-vigilant moments. We have had to capture and liberate numerous mice
ourselves and Madame witters on that 'I told you this would happen if we got a cat.'
Nevertheless, Schröder still seems to get enough cuddles from her when he squeaks.
By the way, sometimes he devours his little victims, at least partially. I surreptitiously removed a severed mouse head from the rug under the kitchen table only this morning - Shhh! |
| When I went to get coffee the other morning I scared a tiny little mouse that had been hiding behind the microwave on the worksurface of our kitchen. It was far too small to have got up there itself, and was certainly too small to get back down. In attempting to elude our impassioned pursuit it made a near suicidal leap into the stainless steel sink (mercifully empty), from where it was relatively simple to release it back into it's natural habitat (our garden). Schröder slept, undisturbed, on the couch throughout the mayhem and denies any knowledge of the events leading up to this incident. |

For those interested, there are further pictures below of this shameless feline sleeping the sleep of the just, as though he doesn't possess a conscience.
